Monthly Board Meetings

If you would like to support ‘Aikane o Nu‘uanu, you are welcome to join our monthly board meetings held on the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom, except for March, when it will be held on the second Thursday due to spring break.

‘Aikane o Nu‘uanu, or "Friends of Nuuanu," is an organization comprised of parents, teachers, staff, and the Principal of Nu‘uanu Elementary School. It was founded in 1975 (and incorporated in 1976) by parents concerned with improving and assisting the school's activities, programs, policies, and community relations. Since its inception, ‘Aikane o Nu‘uanu has sponsored such school events as the Welcome Back to School Festivities, School Fundraising, School Picnic, General Assembly meetings, and Family Fun Night.

To assist working parents of Nu‘uanu Elementary School, ‘Aikane o Nu‘uanu, has also implemented the Early Arrival Program, and the After School Enrichment Program. ‘Aikane o Nu‘uanu from time to time also sponsors the Summer School Program.

The main function of this organization is to provide support to Nu‘uanu School and to create, develop, and maintain the spirit of "ohana" between students, parents, staff, and the surrounding community.
