Family Fun Night is Aikane O Nu‘uanu's biggest fundraiser of the year and we need you to make this the best ever! The Family Fun Night Committee is looking for AWESOME people to help chair, co-chair or be pre-event team members for the following committees.

Silent Auction - Co-Chair and Team Members

Games - Team Members (especially if you’re a carpenter)

Country Store - Co-Chair

Volunteers - Chairperson and Co-Chair

Aloha! We’re excited to announce that planning for Nu‘uanu Elementary School’s family fun night is underway! This page will be updated throughout the year as details are finalized. If you have any questions about Family Fun Night, email pres@nuuanuschool.org

Q: What is Family Fun Night?

A: Family Fun Night is the cornerstone event at Nu‘uanu Elementary School. The event is hosted by Aikane O Nu‘uanu (Nu‘uanu Elementary schools’ parent-teacher organization) to bring the Nu‘uanu Elementary school community together and as a fundraiser to purchase items needed for the school. The night includes games, food, a silent auction, country store, talent show, and lots of fun activities for the entire family. 

Q: When is the 2025 Family Fun Night?

A: Family fun night will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 2:15 (immediately following the end of the school day) to 8:00 p.m.

Q: Who can attend the 2025 Family Fun Night?

A: Everyone is invited!

Q: Where can I park?

A: Parking is available on NES campus in guest parking and green field. Overflow parking at Daijingu Temple (61 Puiwa Rd), International Church (20 Dowsett Ave), and Nu‘uanu Valley Park, as well as street parking. Please be respectful of our neighbor's driveways and property lines.

Q: What will the money raised be used for?

A: In previous years, our fundraising efforts have gone towards the electronic marquee board, storage containers, the jungle gym, and soccer goals, as well as purchasing electronic equipment for classrooms, supporting teacher projects, and offsetting the cost of some school excursions and activities. We work hand-in-hand with Principal Uemae to determine how to best support our students, teachers and staff, as well as maintain our beautiful campus.

Q: How do I volunteer for Family Fun Night?

A: Family Fun Night is only made possible by the volunteers of current and past Nuuanu families and our community members who come together and help to set up and manage the booths. You will receive more information via flyers and email notifications as Family Fun Night draws closer.

Q: How do I purchase scrip for Family Fun Night?

A: Scrip can be purchased at Family Fun Night for 50 cents per scrip.

This year, the Games & Activities range from 3-4 scrips each. Small tattoos are 2 scrips. Face painting and airbrush tattoos are 8 scrips. Bounce house is 8 scrips.

Q: My child attends after-school care, where do I pick them up on Family Fun Night?

A: If your child attends the YMCA after school care program, parents may pick up their child at the kindergarten/first grade playground area.
