Support 'Aikane

You can support Aikane 'O Nuuanu through charitable contributions, in-kind donations, and by giving your time and talent to the many activities we support at Nuuanu Elementary.

 

Charitable Contributions

 

'Aikane o Nu'uanu is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.  Tax-deductible contributions can be made by check (currently we do not accept contributions by credit card) and dropped off at the school office, or mailed to:

If your employer sponsors a matching grants program, please don't forget to complete that paperwork.

We are currently compiling a wish list of supplies and items that are needed in various classrooms throughout the school.

Giving Your Time and Talent

There are many ways that you can give your time and talent to support our acivities:

  • Serve on the Aikane Board: We need dedicated parents to serve in various officer and committee positions on the Aikane Board.  Board meetings are held every month.
  • Participate in Aikane General Membership Meetings: Get involved by attending a general membership meeting (held 3-4 times throughout the school year).
  • School Community Council:  The School Community Council meets once a month and all parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Meeting schedules as well as minutes are available on the school’s website (http://www.nuuanu.k12.hi.us/nuuanuweb/SCC/School_Community_Council.html).  
  • Room Parents: Room parents are needed for each class to spearhead volunteer recruitment for the Family Fun Night Event. To volunteer, contact your child’s teacher.
  • Family Fun Night: Each year Family Fun Night provides a family-friendly venue with food and games galore that doubles as a fundraising event. Aikane depends on many parent volunteers to make the event a success. To sign up, contact you’re the Room Parent for your child’s class.
