'Aikane O Nu'unanu is proud to offer family support programs to provide supervision and care for your child:
Early Arrival
By Department of Education rules, teachers are not required to open classrooms until 7:45am. Since most parents need to drop off our children early so we can to work, 'Aikane has developed a program where you can drop off your child as early as 6:30am and he/she will be supervised by licensed child care providers. Older children are released at 7:45am, but younger children are escorted to their classrooms in groups. Please contact the school office for forms and fee information.
Intersession/Waiver Day
Besides the regular Winter and Spring breaks, there are days in the school calendar when your child will not have school. These are typically intersessions and waiver days determined by the DOE. 'Aikane has developed programs to provide supervision and activities on those days, held at Nu'uanu Elementary School grounds. Meals options are available and the children often go on field trips. Updates will be posted on this web site and sent home via paper flyer and email broadcast.
